Why My Communion Isn’t a Crowd

Today, I’m pouring something bold, unfiltered, and strictly between us and the Creator.
We’ve all heard the saying, “Birds of a feather flock together.” In many circles, people take that to mean that if you aren’t part of a massive group or a constant social “flock,” you’re doing it wrong. I’ve had “old saints” and traditionalists look at my walk, my quiet, independent path, and try to tell me my perspective goes against the Word.
But here is the tea: Uniformity is not the same as Unity.
My “Church of One”

When people hear the phrase “where two or three are gathered,” they immediately think of a social gathering or a physical building. But after years of navigating the world on my own, and learning to trust the Spirit when I had no one else, I see it differently.
I truly believe that when He speaks of walking together, He means You and Him. My congregation consists of me, my Bible, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and my Father. That is my church. The “two or more” isn’t a crowd of people; it’s you walking in total alignment with the Trinity. I don’t need a congregation to validate the conversation I’m having with the One who never left me.
The Precedent of the Private Walk

If people tell you that faith must be a social event, remind them that the Bible’s most radical transformations happened in total isolation. God often does His best work when the audience is gone:
- Jacob at Jabbok: Genesis 32:24 says, “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.” The change didn’t happen at a family reunion; it happened when he was a party of one.
- Elijah’s Cave: Elijah didn’t find God in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire. He found Him in a “still, small voice” while he was alone in a cave (1 Kings 19:12). Sometimes, the crowd is too loud for you to hear what the Spirit is actually whispering.
- The Secret Place: Psalm 91:1 speaks of the “Secret Place of the Most High.” It’s a private territory where you and the Creator meet face-to-face.
The Alignment Test

I know I’m walking the correct path because of the Alignment. Even though I walk this path solo, when I do “bump into” others who are truly in communion with Christ, we align perfectly. It flows out of the abundance of the heart. Spirit recognizes Spirit.
If I were off-track, I would be pointed out or chastised by the Spirit. Instead, when I meet true believers, there is an immediate harmony, a shared frequency that proves we are following the same North Star. People might not like my independence, but they can’t argue with the Fruit (Galatians 5:22).
The “Twelve” Principle

To the critics who say everyone must walk the same way, remember this: All twelve of Jesus’ disciples were different. He didn’t pick twelve clones. He had a tax collector, fishermen, a political revolutionary, and a skeptic. They had different temperaments, different backgrounds, and different ways of processing the world. If Jesus didn’t demand they all be the same, why should the church today? We are many parts, but one Body.
Theological Grounding: Why This Works

- The Priesthood of the Believer: Because the veil was torn, you have direct, 24/7 access to the Father. You don’t need a middleman.
- The Internal Witness: The Holy Spirit is the ultimate Teacher. If the Spirit in you confirms the Truth, that is your authority.
- Individual Stewardship: We each run the race set before us (Hebrews 12:1) singular. You cannot run someone else’s race.
The Closing Sip
At the end of the day, when I stand before the Creator, I’m not bringing a crowd. It’s a solo interview. My faith was forged in the fire of being a runaway aand surviving the street. It wasn’t built in a pew; it was built in the quiet of survival.
I’ll leave you with the scripture that settles it:
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” — 2 Chronicles 16:9
He isn’t looking for the loudest flock. He’s looking for the heart. If your heart is stayed on Him, you have all the company you’ll ever need.
Stay grounded, stay quiet, and keep sipping.
